The Prophet Muhammad's journey, the Hijrah, wasn't just a trip across the desert. It was a time of hardship when torment for his beliefs became unbearable, leading to death and torture, the Prophet (PBUH) asked his followers to migrate to Madinah in groups.
He followed suit with his companion, Abu Bakr, following Allah's instruction. This spark ignited a new civilization that holds timeless lessons that resonate even today.
1- Trusting Allah in Times of Difficulty undoubtedly
This lesson explores the power of trusting in Allah during difficult times. We learn from the Prophet's (PBUH) unshakeable faith during the migration to Madinah. Faced with imminent danger, the Prophet (PBUH) and his companion Abu Bakr (RA) found themselves trapped in a cave with enemies closing in.
Fear gripped Abu Bakr (RA), but the Prophet's (PBUH) response resonated with unwavering trust: "Do not grieve, Allah is with us."
This powerful statement highlights two key takeaways:
Faith breeds calmness: Despite the uncertain situation, the Prophet's (PBUH) faith in Allah's plan provided him with inner peace. He didn't focus on the unknown outcome but on the unwavering presence of Allah.
Trust brings ease: The Prophet's (PBUH) trust in Allah wasn't passive. It allowed him to find tranquility even in the face of danger. This serenity, as the passage suggests, is a gift that comes only through trusting Allah.
5 lessons to learn from the prophets hijrah

2- Building a Strong Ummah through the Brotherhood
The Hijrah wasn't just a journey; it demonstrated the power of Muslim unity. The Ansar welcomed the Muhajirun with open arms, sharing their resources like true brothers.
This teaches us that:
Faith unites us: A shared belief in Allah creates a strong bond that transcends background and origin.
We support each other: Muslims are like family, helping one another through thick and thin.
By reaching out, offering help, and working together, we can build a strong and united Ummah, just like the Prophet (PBUH) and his companions.

3- With difficulty comes Ease - A Promise of Allah
The early days of Islam were filled with hardship. The Prophet (PBUH) and his companions faced persecution, torture, and even death at the hands of the Quraysh. Yet, they persevered with unwavering faith.
This lesson reminds us of Allah's promise: "So, surely with hardship comes ease." (Quran 94:5)
"فَإِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا"
Remember, difficulties are temporary, but Allah's mercy is everlasting. By holding onto faith, we can navigate hardship and emerge stronger, just like the Prophet (PBUH) and his companions.
4- The Love and Attachment to Mother Land
Despite the hardships faced in Makkah, the Prophet (PBUH) held a deep love for his birthplace. This highlights the importance of our connection to our homeland: So he said:
"مَا أَطْيَبَكِ مِنْ بَلَدٍ وَأَحَبَّكِ إِلَيَّ وَلَوْلَا أَنَّ قَوْمِي أَخْرَجُونِي مِنْكِ مَا سَكَنْتُ غَيْرَكِ" (رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ)
The Prophet said about Makkah, “What a fine town you are, and how dear you are to me!
Were it not that my people expelled me from you, I would live nowhere else” (At-Tirmidhi)
5- Prioritize Islam and faith over everything
The Companions of the prophet sacrificed their money and bodies for the sake of emigration with the beloved prophet, not only to protect themselves from oppression but also to set up the religion of Islam and let it grow.
One of the Sahaba, named ‘Sohaib’, had to let go of all of his money, fortune, and everything he owned for the sake of his religion, and to be able to emigrate with others. When the Prophet ‘peace be upon him’ knew about what his companion ‘Sohaib’ did, he said that he Gained the Profit.
“The ones who have believed, emigrated, and striven in the cause of Allah with their wealth
and their lives are greater in rank in the sight of Allah. And it is those who are the attainers [of success]”
(Surah At-Tawbah, Verse 20)
The memory of the Prophet's Migration remains etched in the heart of every Muslim, and its lessons must be continually applied, serving as a guide for life.
